I Will Praise Thee
After driving the equivalent of approximately 3/4 of the way around the earth, we finished up our furlough travels. We will now spend our remaining time with family, friends and our home church before returning to Colombia.
We humbly thank all of those whom have partnered with us through financial and prayerful support. It was wonderful to reconnect with so many of you. We pray God continues to bless you all richly and we praise God for each and every one of you!
Not My Thoughts
God tells us, “my thoughts are not your thoughts…” So it was on a recent trip in the Midwest.
God led me to go out of my way to visit a family who had contacted me while in Colombia in the middle of rural Illinois.
After less than 24 hours at their home, God planted a seed. Days later, one of their teenage daughters emailed me to tell me that God had called her during their missions conference to reach the deaf in Colombia. We praise God for his sovereign hand!
Saying Good Bye
Just a few weeks after we arrived in June, we found out Katie’s mother was again battling the cancer she had overcome just three short years earlier. Katie returned to Idaho to care for and accompany her during her remaining months.
She was a spiritual giant who impacted many lives. She taught us by her powerful example and showed us that by faith we could reach into the heavens. She taught us to believe in God. We said good bye and Erika Peterson passed away October 1, 2016. We praise God for the inspiration she was to all of us.
Effectual Prayer
You have been praying for the gang outreach opportunities God has given us.
I recently spoke with Camilo, who is the head of one of the gangs in Comuna 13. He said our prayers are affecting him as he begins to take steps to get out of the dark life.
I told him that was great and God is working in his life because He has plans for him. I believe his conversion is near. We praise God for effectual prayers. Keep praying!
