Our Beliefs

The Bible

We believe that the Old and New Testaments of the Bible were written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is the only perfect authority for doctrine and life.  The Bible is preserved perfectly for us in the King James Version. I Tim 3: 16; Psm 12: 6, 7; 119:89

The Godhead

We believe that there is one God who is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. He is Spirit, and is triune in nature; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each part of the trinity has equally important responsibilities. Mt 28: 19; Is 45: 5; Jn 4: 24; Jn 10: 30; Eph 2: 18

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the manifestation of God in the flesh. He was virgin born and conceived by the Holy Ghost. Mt 1: 18-21; Jn 8: 58; I Tim 3: 16

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God. He is a person not a force. He is co-equal with the Father and the Son. His ministry is for the conviction of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is to help edify the saint, convert the sinner, and glorify the Savior. We do not believe He is the author of the Charismatic movement. Jn 16: 7-14; Jn 4: 24

Creation

We believe that God created the universe with the aid of nothing but His own spoken word. God’s word will maintain a harmonious balance until He sees fit to create a new heaven and new earth. Heb 1: 3; Gen 1: 1; Gen 1: 3

Man

We believe that man was created in the image of God, but through succumbing to temptation brought sin into the human race. This brought physical and spiritual death to every man and there is no man on earth that is not in need of redemption.  Gen 1: 27; Rom 5: 12

Salvation

We believe that Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the grave the third day. His sacrifice on the cross was substitutionary for mankind. He completed once and for all the necessary atonement required for man’s sins. He lives today and is our advocate at the right hand of the Father.  I Cor 15: 3, 4; Rom 5: 8; Heb 9: 26; I Jn 2: 1; Heb 10:10

Eternal Security

We believe that all born-again believers are kept eternally secure in Christ forever.  This is not an assurance given that allows Christian liberty to indulge in the flesh, but one given that allows them to rejoice confidently and focus attention on Christian growth and outreach.  Jn 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Rom. 8:1, 38-39, 13:11-14; Gal 5:13; 1 John 5:11-13; Pet. 1:4-5

The Church

We believe that the local church is an assembly of baptized, born-again believers who congregate for the purpose of evangelizing the sinner, edifying the saint, and glorifying the Savior as stated in the Great Commission.  Mt 28: 19, 20

Second Advent

We believe that the Lord Jesus will return to rapture His church prior to the tribulation period during which time God will purify Israel in preparation for their coming Messiah. Then Christ will return with his saints to set up His 1,000 year reign on the earth. Jn 14: 1-3; Phil 3: 20; I Thes 4: 13-18
