A New Beginning

One of the hardest things about being a missionary is that you are always saying goodbye to loved ones. We had to do it once again. This time to our youngest daughter, Lily. We said goodbye to her as we took her from Colombia and dropped her off at West Coast Baptist College in California. There were lots of tears, but we are genuinely excited for what God is going to do in her life. Pray for her as she transitions to life in America and starts a new beginning.

I Surrender All

While Stateside, I was invited to preach our home church’s college summer camp. It was a blessing because it reminded me of where everything started in my life when I got saved at a church camp years ago. God moved as feet were held to the fire and difficult subjects were dealt with. Many decisions were made for the glory of God. One young man came up to me after the service with something important to tell me. He had decided to surrender his all to be a missionary!

Born Again

As a result of the ongoing difficult situation in our neighboring country, Venezuela, we have had many of them visit and become part of our church in Colombia. Some have become members and begun to serve. One brought a family member to a recent service and I noticed him intently listening to the message. Praise God! After the message, José, came forward and made the decision to be born again.

Disciples Making Disciples

We encourage everyone to participate in the Great Commission. Part of the that is making disciples. Earlier in the year we led Cristian and Juan to Jesus while visiting their family. I encouraged José and his wife to take the baton and disciple their son and nephew in their new faith. Last Sunday we gave them their completion certificate. God wants all of us as his followers to make disciples in the faith.
